Music scores and midis for recorder
Eyck, Jacob van
( ca. 1590, 1657 )
Jacob van Eyck was a blind Dutch carillonist, recorder player and composer. Van Eyck was asked by the Utrecht Catedral, in addition to his carillon duties, to wander the cathedral grounds and entertain the passers-by with songs on his recorder. He is known today for his collection of Recorder Solos - Der Fluyten Lust-hof ( The Flute's Pleasure-Garden ). This collection contains 144 sets of variations on a variety of melodies popular in Renaissance Holland. Although Van Eyck wrote Der Fluyten Lust-hof for amateur musicians, the different sets commonly increase in technical difficulty towards the end, even becoming very difficult.
